Practically running into the room, Bliss stopped by the bed, with wide eyes. He'd heard the surprise/pain in her voice and was worried (even if he'd seen his sister go though this a month before).

"Joan... what is it? Are you alright? Is it the baby?"

"It's..." She looked up at him, grinning. There was a little fear, too. But mostly excitement. "I think it's time..."

"What should I do? Should I get Aille? Or Smith... no not Smith... he needs to take care of Brigid and Angus... umm..." He'd started having that nervious excitement, tinged with fear... he'd have his daughter soon. "Aille... I'll get Aille..."

"What do you need?"

She nodded, eyes wide as a strange sensation traveled down her spine. "Yes...Get Aille...quick..."

"Okay... okay... I'll be right back." He turned to dash out the door, then spun around, gave her a kiss, grinning like a loon, then poofed away. He had a sister to get.

Walking in at a more sedate pace than her brother was trying to push her in at, "Hey Joan, I hear it's time. How are you feeling?" Smiling and touching her stomach to feel another contraction in the works.

"A litle scared. Just a little." Joan admitted with a smile at her sister in law. "But mostly excited. I'm ready..." SHe glanced at Bliss, smiled again.

Smiling softly, "I know that feeling all too well. I felt like that not too long ago myself."

"So how far apart are they now? Bliss just ran in and told me it was time... not much more than that."

"I'm not sure...feels like they're one right after another. Maybe five minutes?"

"Do you feel like getting up and walking for a bit? That could help them move along faster."

"If you think I should..." Shesits up and moves tot he edge of the bed. Not very gracefully, but it's not totally impossible. Sitting, she reaches for Bliss' han wanting him to help her get on her feet.

Both Bliss and Aille help her too her feet, Bliss wrapping his arm around her and Aille just smiling. "I know it's difficult, but it will actually make things easier in the long run."

Joan nodded.. "If you say so..." She had no idea. Just knew every step felt like her feet were encased in concrete.

"Now, when your contractions get to be about three minutes apart, we're going to check you, and hopefully things will go fast from there. I know I slowed right down, but sometimes you can go from three minutes, to pushing quite quickly."

"Okay." Whatever else she might have said was cut off by the pain of another contraction. Her han went around her stomache and she leaned against Bliss. "Ohhhh."

"Bliss, I want you to start timing her contractions..."

he was holding her up and looking rather concerned at his sister, "Is this normal?"

"Completely. Remember what I was like? At least Joan, you're not throwing things."

"Only because there's nothing close enough to grab." Joan answered through clenched teeth.


OOC: Going out for a while, will be back later...

Laughing, "I worked my way over..." Helping Bliss with easing her though the room.

She squeezed both their hands, maybe a little too hard. "How long is this going to last?" She asked, looking at Aille as soon as the worst of the pain passed.

"It all depends on how fast she wants to come. It could take only an hour... it could take until this time tomorrow." Smiling softly and helping her to start to walk again, "But she seems to be moving fast, so I don't think it will be long."

"Make it fast!:" Joan looked at Aille helplessly. "Please make it fast."

Squeezing her hand, "Joan, she'll come at her own time, it's up to her, not to either of us." Looking over to Bliss who seemed completely at a loss. "Let's get you back to bed, and I'll check you. That should tell me how much longer we have. How does that sound?"

"Yeah. That sounds good." Joan nodded. "I just want this over with. It hurts. I didn't know it would hurt like this."

"I know hun... I know..." and she did, she hadn't realized herself just how bad it was. "But when you see your little girl, it will all be worth it. I promise."

With Bliss's help, she lead her to the bed.

Joan lay back down, hands on her stomach. "I can't do this. I don't want to do this anymore. Don't make me do this."

"You really don't have much of a choice Joan, she has to come out now, or their could be complications. Plus I'm sure you don't want to be pregnant forever. I'd have to confine you to this bed." Knowing she didn't want to go thought the same thing her sister-in-law had indured for months.

Joan glared at AIlle. "Then get her out. Now!"

I am so sorry. I never got the post posted. I've been busy the last few days...4th of July, the husband of a friend died on Weds, funeral home on Thurs, funeral on Friday...Went to the lake with my friend on Sat, had friends come in tonight from Alabalma...And somehow Joanie got over looked.

I am dead tired right now, but I have written myself a huge note and put it on the computer that I will post a new post tomorrow. First thing. *Nods*

Also, should tell you my AIM has changed again. IndigoCaress I think I'm gonna stick with that one for a while.

Just give me a shout when you do. I started a new job today so I'm a little worn out and won't be checking quite so often. At least for the first few weeks. I'm still going to do my best to be on at least once a day though.
